Method

Filling Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fruit

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Wash and slice the peaches and cherries, removing pits as needed.

  2. 2

    Make the Mulled Wine Mixture

In a saucepan, combine the red wine, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is dissolved, then add the sliced peaches and cherries. Cook for about 5 minutes until the fruits soften.

  3. 3

    Thicken the Filling

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with a couple of tablespoons of water to create a slurry. Add this to the fruit mixture, stirring until it thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.

Crumble Topping Directions

  1. 4

    Prepare the Crumble Topping

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and salt. Add the cold butter, cut into small cubes, and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Apple Chips Directions

  1. 5

    Prepare the Apple Chips

Thinly slice the apples and remove the seeds. Lay them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.

  2. 6

    Bake the Apple Chips

Bake in the same oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy.

Assembly and Baking Directions

  1. 7

    Assemble the Crumble

In a greased baking dish, pour the mulled fruit mixture evenly. Sprinkle the crumble topping over the fruit.

  2. 8

    Bake the Crumble

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.

  3. 9

    Serve

Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Top with apple chips for an extra crunch.
