Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Choose Your Spirit

Select either gin or vodka as your base spirit for the martini.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing glass filled with ice, pour in 2 oz of your chosen gin or vodka and add 0.5 oz of dry vermouth. If you prefer a dirty martini, include 0.5 oz of olive brine.

  3. 3

    Stir or Shake

Stir the mixture gently with a bar spoon for about 30 seconds until well chilled. If you like a shaken martini, shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.

Serving

  1. 4

    Strain and Serve

Using a strainer, pour the martini into a chilled martini glass.

  2. 5

    Garnish

Add three olives on a pick or drop them directly into the glass. Optionally, twist a lemon peel over the drink to release its oils and drop it in as well.

  3. 6

    Enjoy

Serve immediately and enjoy your house dry or dirty martini with locally sourced accoutrements.
