Cake Preparation
- 1
Melt the Chocolate and Butter
In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Place the bowl over a saucepan of simmering water (double boiler method) and stir until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- 2
Mix the Batter
In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined and slightly frothy. Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring continuously to combine.
- 3
Add Dry Ingredients
Sift the all-purpose flour and salt into the chocolate mixture. Gently fold the flour into the batter until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

Fill Ramekins
Evenly distribute the batter among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
- 6
Bake
Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center remains soft.
- 7
