Preparing the Pork
- 1
Season the Pork
In a small bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this spice mixture all over the pork shoulder, ensuring it is well coated.
- 2
Slow Cook the Pork
Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a slow cooker. In a separate bowl, combine the BBQ sauce and apple cider vinegar, then pour the mixture over the pork. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- 3
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and place it on a large cutting board. Use two forks to shred the pork into bite-sized pieces. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix it with the remaining sauce.
