Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it's ready for baking.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Baking Pan

Grease an 8x8 inch (20x20 cm) baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Mixing the Ingredients

  1. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, salt, and baking powder until well combined.

  2. 4

    Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  3. 5

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a large bowl, beat the eggs, then add the melted butter and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.

  4. 6

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 7

    Add Optional Add-ins

If desired, fold in chocolate chips and/or chopped nuts into the brownie batter.

Baking

  1. 8

    Pour Batter into Pan

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.

  2. 9

    Bake the Brownies

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  3. 10

    Cool and Cut

Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, cut into squares.
