Pasta

Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Spaghetti

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add 1 pound of spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Drain and Set Aside

Once cooked, drain the spaghetti and reserve about 1 cup of the pasta water. Set the spaghetti aside.

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 3

    Sauté the Shrimp

In a large skillet, heat 4 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the 2 pounds of large shrimp and cook until they turn pink, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  2. 4

    Add Garlic and Spices

Add the 8 minced garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper to the skillet. Sauté for an additional 2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant.

  3. 5

Finish with Lemon Juice and Parsley

Remove the skillet from heat, then stir in 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 1 cup of chopped fresh parsley. Mix well to combine.

Combine and Serve

  1. 6

    Toss Everything Together

Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the shrimp mixture. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach your desired consistency.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve the garlic sautéed shrimp pasta hot, topped with 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese.
