Method

Filling Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fruit

In a large mixing bowl, combine the mixed berries with the granulated sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Gently toss the mixture until the berries are well-coated. Allow it to sit for about 15 minutes to release the juices.

Cobbler Crust Preparation

  1. 2

    Make the Cobbler Crust

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, salt, and ground cinnamon. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the milk until just combined.

  2. 3

    Assemble the Cobbler

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, spread the prepared fruit mixture evenly across the bottom. Drop spoonfuls of the cobbler crust mixture over the fruit, covering as much of the fruit as possible.

Baking the Cobbler

  1. 4

    Bake

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the cobbler topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.

Whipped Cream Preparation

  1. 5

    Make the Whipped Cream

In a medium bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer, beat on medium-high speed until soft peaks form.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve the Cobbler

Once baked, remove the cobbler from the oven and allow it to cool slightly. Serve warm, topped with a generous dollop of whipped cream.
