Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently using your hands until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick.

  3. 3

    Chill Patties

Place the patties on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them firm up before cooking.

Cooking the Burgers

  1. 4

    Preheat Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 5

    Cook Patties

Place the chilled patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

  3. 6

    Add Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

Assembling the Burgers

  1. 7

    Prepare Buns

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 8

    Assemble Burgers

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, a cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, a pickle, and any desired condiments (ketchup and mustard).

  3. 9

    Finish Assembly

Top with the other half of the bun. Serve immediately.
