Brownie Batter

Method

Preparing the Brownie Batter

  1. 1

    Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over low heat until fully melted. Remove from heat.

  2. 2

    Mix Sugars

Add 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 cup of light brown sugar to the melted butter. Stir until well combined.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add 2 large eggs (one at a time) and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the mixture. Stir until smooth.

  4. 4

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, and 1 teaspoon of salt.

  5. 5

    Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

  6. 6

    Fold in Chocolate Chips

Gently fold in 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips into the brownie batter.

Baking the Brownies

  1. 7

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 8

    Prepare the Baking Pan

Grease an 8-inch square baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

  3. 9

    Bake the Brownies

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  4. 10

    Cool and Cut

Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.
