Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bananas

Peel the ripe bananas and slice them in half lengthwise. Then, cut each half into smaller pieces, approximately 1-2 inches long.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Make the Cinnamon Rum Syrup

In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the brown sugar, stirring until it dissolves completely.

  2. 3

    Add Cinnamon and Rum

Stir in the cinnamon and a pinch of salt. Gradually pour in the dark rum while continuing to stir. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.

  3. 4

    Caramelize the Bananas

Add the sliced bananas to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, gently flipping the bananas halfway through, until they are tender and caramelized. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

Serving

  1. 5

    Serve the Dish

Scoop the vanilla ice cream into serving bowls. Spoon the warm cinnamon rum syrup and caramelized bananas over the ice cream. Serve immediately.
