Method
Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This ensures the bacon cooks evenly and crisps up nicely.
- 2
Prepare the Baking Sheet
Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup. Place a wire rack on top of the foil-lined baking sheet.
Cooking
- 3
Arrange the Bacon
Lay the 54 slices of applewood smoked bacon in a single layer on the wire rack, making sure they do not overlap.
- 4
Add Optional Seasoning
If desired, sprinkle black pepper over the bacon slices. For a sweet touch, sprinkle brown sugar and drizzle maple syrup on top of the bacon.
- 5
Bake the Bacon
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the bacon is crispy and golden brown. Keep an eye on it towards the end to prevent burning.
Finishing Touches
- 6
Drain and Serve
Once cooked, remove the bacon from the oven and carefully transfer the slices to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess grease. Serve warm.
