Cucumber Relish
Method
Marinate Ahi Tuna

Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.

Marinate the Tuna
Place the ahi tuna steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Prepare Cucumber Relish

Mix the Relish
In a separate bowl, combine diced cucumber, red onion, rice vinegar, sugar, salt, fresh dill, and black pepper. Mix well and set aside to allow flavors to meld.
Sear Ahi Tuna

Heat the Pan
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add a small amount of oil if necessary.

Sear the Tuna
Remove the tuna from the marinade and sprinkle sesame seeds on both sides. Sear the tuna steaks for 1-2 minutes on each side for rare, or longer to your desired doneness.
Serve

Plate the Dish
Slice the seared tuna into thin slices and arrange on a plate. Top with cucumber relish and serve immediately.
