Method

Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cake

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

In a bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

  3. 3

In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.

  4. 4

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

  5. 5

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Prepare the Milk Mixture

In a medium bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk.

  7. 7

Once the cake has cooled slightly, poke holes all over the top using a fork or toothpick.

  8. 8

Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cake, making sure to cover the entire surface. Let it soak for at least 1 hour, or overnight in the fridge.

  9. 9

    Prepare the Topping

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.

  10. 10

Spread the whipped cream over the soaked cake and top with fresh strawberries.

  11. 11

Slice and serve chilled. Enjoy your Tres Leches cake!
