Brew a shot of espresso and allow it to cool slightly.

In a cocktail shaker, combine the freshly brewed espresso, vodka, coffee liqueur, and simple syrup.

Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.

Strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with coffee beans.

In a mixing glass, muddle the coffee grounds with the simple syrup to release their flavor.

Add bourbon and bitters to the mixing glass.
