Falafel and Salad Ingredients

Method

Preparation and Assembly

  1. 1

    Prepare the Falafel

In a food processor, combine chickpeas, garlic, cilantro, parsley, cumin, coriander, salt, and black pepper. Pulse until the mixture is coarsely blended.

  2. 2

    Form Falafel Balls

Transfer the mixture to a bowl, add baking powder and gluten-free flour, and mix until well combined. Form small balls or patties.

  3. 3

    Cook the Falafel

In a deep skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Fry the falafel balls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Salad

In a large bowl, combine mixed greens, grape tomatoes, cucumber, carrot, red onion, and banana peppers.

  5. 5

    Serve

Place the salad mixture on a plate, top with falafel, and serve with housemade hummus and balsamic vinaigrette on the side.
