Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Bacon
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Lay the brown sugar bacon on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool.
- 2
Cider-Braised Onions
In a skillet, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and heat over medium heat. Add 1 sliced onion and cook until translucent. Pour in 1/2 cup of apple cider and simmer until the onions are caramelized and the liquid is reduced, about 10-15 minutes.
- 3
Assemble the Sandwich
Slice the ciabatta pieces in half. On one half, layer the roasted turkey, crispy bacon, provolone cheese, and cider-braised onions. Drizzle firecracker sauce over the top.
- 4
Grill
Preheat a grill or panini press. Place the assembled sandwich on the grill and cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-5 minutes.
- 5
Serve
Remove from the grill, slice in half, and serve immediately while hot.
