Shrimp 'al Ajillo' Recipe

Preparation

    Prep the Shrimp

    If using frozen shrimp, make sure they are thawed. Peel and devein the shrimp if not already done.

    Mince Garlic

    Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves.

    Chop Chili Pepper

    Slice the chili pepper in half lengthwise, remove seeds if desired, and chop into small pieces.

    Chop Parsley

    Finely chop the fresh parsley for garnishing.

Cooking

    Heat the Olive Oil

    In a large skillet, heat the extra-virgin olive oil over medium heat.

    Sauté Garlic and Chili

    Add the minced garlic and chopped chili pepper to the skillet. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant, but be careful not to let it burn.

    Cook the Shrimp

    Add the shrimp to the skillet and sprinkle with salt. Cook for about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

    Garnish

    Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle the chopped parsley over the shrimp. Toss gently to combine.
