Method

Churros

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

Once boiling, add flour and stir vigorously until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs

Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

  4. 4

    Heat Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).

  5. 5

    Pipe Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe long strips of dough directly into the hot oil, cutting with scissors to release.

  6. 6

    Fry Churros

Fry churros until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  7. 7

    Coat with Cinnamon Sugar

In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon. Roll churros in the mixture while still warm.

Chocolate Sauce

  1. 8

    Heat Cream

In a small saucepan, heat heavy cream over medium heat until just boiling.

  2. 9

    Melt Chocolate

Remove from heat and add chocolate chips, stirring until melted and smooth.

  3. 10

    Add Vanilla

Stir in vanilla extract and set aside to cool slightly.

Caramel Sauce

  1. 11

    Make Caramel

In a medium saucepan, heat granulated sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it melts and turns a golden brown.

  2. 12

    Add Butter

Once melted, add butter and stir until combined.

  3. 13

    Stir in Cream

Remove from heat and slowly add heavy cream, stirring until smooth.

  4. 14

    Finish with Salt

Stir in sea salt and let cool slightly before serving.

Guava Sauce

  1. 15

    Combine Ingredients

In a small saucepan, combine guava paste and water.

  2. 16

    Heat Mixture

Heat over medium heat, stirring until the guava paste dissolves.

  3. 17

    Add Lemon Juice

Stir in lemon juice and remove from heat. Allow to cool slightly.
