Cake Base

Method

Cake Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 5

    Bake the Cake

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Cool the Cakes

Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare the Frosting

In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until well combined.

  2. 8

    Add Vanilla and Milk

Add the vanilla extract and milk to the frosting mixture. Beat until the frosting is creamy and spreadable.

Assembly and Decoration

  1. 9

    Frost the Cake

Once the cakes are completely cooled, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of frosting on top, then place the second layer on top.

  2. 10

    Decorate

Spread frosting over the top and sides of the cake. Arrange the fresh strawberries and mint leaves on top for decoration. Add edible glitter or sprinkles if desired.

  3. 11

    Slice and Serve

Slice the cake into pieces and serve. Enjoy your Sweet Heart cake!
