Method
Steak Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Steak
Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking.
- 2
Grilling the Steak
- 3
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450°F to 500°F or 232°C to 260°C).
- 4
Grill the Steaks
Place the steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side for medium-rare, depending on thickness. Flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes on the other side. Adjust cooking time for your desired doneness.
- 5
Rest the Steak
Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
Fries Preparation
- 6
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick) to resemble French fries.
Frying the Fries
- 7
Heat the Oil
In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a deep-fry thermometer to check the temperature.
- 8
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the potato strips in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 5-6 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 9
Season the Fries
While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.
Serving
- 10
Plate the Dish
Serve the grilled steak alongside the crispy fries on a plate. Enjoy your meal!
