Prepare the Meat Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper.

Shape the Meatballs
Using your hands, mix the ingredients until fully combined. Form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.

Cook the Meatballs
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked through.

Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, chopped basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring the sauce to a simmer.

Simmer the Sauce
Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
Serving

Combine and Serve
Once the meatballs are cooked, add them to the marinara sauce and let them simmer together for a few minutes. Serve hot, garnished with additional basil and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
