Preparing the Bread
- 1
Slice the Baguette
Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices.
- 2
Toast the Bread
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet, brush with olive oil on both sides, and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
Making the Topping
- 3
Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the Roma tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a bowl.
- 4
Prepare the Basil
Rinse the fresh basil leaves, pat dry, and chop them finely. Add to the bowl with the tomatoes.
- 5
Mince the Garlic
Peel and mince the garlic cloves. Add them to the tomato and basil mixture.
- 6
Mix the Topping
Add balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper to taste to the tomato mixture. Gently stir to combine.
Assembling the Bruschetta
- 7
Top the Bread
Once the baguette slices are toasted, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously on top of each slice.
- 8
