Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Caramelize the Onions

Slice the onion into thin rings. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are soft and golden brown, about 15-20 minutes. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Fries

Peel and cut the potatoes into thin strips. Rinse them in cold water, then pat dry. In a bowl, toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Place them on a baking sheet and bake at 425°F (220°C) for 25-30 minutes or until crispy.

  3. 3

    Cook the Burger Patty

Season the beef patty with salt and pepper. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patty for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place the cheddar cheese on top of the patty to melt.

  4. 4

    Make the Dijonnaise Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise and Dijon mustard. Adjust the ratio to taste.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the brioche bun lightly. Spread a generous amount of Dijonnaise on the bottom half of the bun. Place the cooked beef patty with melted cheese on top, followed by the caramelized onions. Top with the other half of the bun.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the Coast Burger hot with crispy fries on the side.
