Classic Chicken Sandwich Ingredients
Method
Preparation Steps
- 1
Brining the Chicken
In a bowl, combine the chicken breast with pickle brine. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- 2
Preparing the Breading
In a shallow dish, mix together flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- 3
Battering the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the brine and dip it into the buttermilk, then dredge it in the seasoned flour mixture. Ensure the chicken is fully coated.
- 4
Frying the Chicken
In a deep skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the battered chicken. Fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 5
Assembling the Sandwich
Toast the seeded burger bun. Place the fried chicken on the bottom half, add dill pickle slices and drizzle with cluck sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
- 6
Serving
Serve the sandwich hot with your choice of sides.
