Macaroni and Cheese

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In a large cast iron skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbly but not browned. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add the Cheeses

Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the cheddar, Gruyère, and Parmesan cheeses until melted and smooth. Season with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.

  4. 4

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well combined. Spread the mixture evenly in the skillet.

  5. 5

    Prepare for Baking

Sprinkle the panko breadcrumbs evenly over the top of the mac and cheese.

  6. 6

    Bake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the skillet in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy.

  7. 7

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your creamy three-cheese mac and cheese!
