Stuffed Dates Ingredients
Method
Preparation Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Merguez Sausage
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the merguez sausage until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Once cooled, crumble the sausage into small pieces.
- 2
Stuff the Dates
Carefully slice each Medjool date lengthwise to create an opening, removing the pit. Stuff each date with the crumbled merguez sausage.
- 3
Wrap with Prosciutto
Wrap each stuffed date with a slice of smoked prosciutto, securing it with a toothpick if necessary.
- 4
Prepare the Sauce
In a small saucepan, combine the piquillo peppers and tomato sauce. Simmer for about 5 minutes until heated through, then stir in chopped parsley.
- 5
Toast the Turkish Bread
Slice the Turkish bread and toast it lightly until golden and crispy.
- 6
Serve
Arrange the stuffed dates on a platter with the piquillo pepper-tomato sauce drizzled over or served on the side. Serve with toasted Turkish bread.
