Muddle the Basil
In a cocktail shaker, muddle the fresh basil leaves to release their aroma.

Add Ingredients
Add gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, and ice to the shaker.

Shake It Up
Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice and top with soda water.

Garnish with a fresh basil leaf on top and serve immediately.
