Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Create the syrup

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of cane sugar and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring continuously, until the sugar has fully dissolved. This will take about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add flavors

Once the sugar is dissolved, add 1 tablespoon of caramel color, 0.1 tablespoons of caffeine, 1 teaspoon of citric acid, and 1 tablespoon of natural flavors to the syrup. Stir well to combine.

  3. 3

    Cool the syrup

Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, you can store it in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Mixing

  1. 4

Combine the syrup and soda water

In a large pitcher, combine the cooled syrup with 4 cups of soda water. Stir gently to mix, being careful not to lose too much carbonation.

  2. 5

    Add lime juice

Add 2 tablespoons of lime juice to the mixture and stir gently. This will enhance the flavor and give it a refreshing twist.

  3. 6

    Serve

Serve the Mexican Coke over ice in chilled glasses. Optionally, garnish with lime wedges for an additional burst of flavor.
