Burger Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Beef Patty
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently to combine, being careful not to overwork the meat. Divide the beef into two equal portions and shape them into patties, approximately 3/4 inch thick.
- 2
Cook the Patties
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the beef patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and add a slice of aged cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the beef reaches your desired doneness.
- 3
Prepare the Vegetables
While the patties are cooking, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato and onion into thin rings. Set aside.
- 4
Make the Blue Cheese Bacon Dressing
In a small bowl, combine the blue cheese and crumbled cooked bacon. Mix well and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. If desired, you can thin the dressing with a little olive oil or buttermilk.
- 5
Assemble the Burger
To assemble the burger, slice the brioche buns in half and toast them lightly, if desired. On the bottom half of each bun, layer lettuce, a beef patty with melted cheddar, tomato slices, onion rings, and pickles. Drizzle the blue cheese bacon dressing on top and finish with the top half of the bun.

Serve
Serve the classic burger with your choice of sides, such as fries or a salad. Enjoy your delicious homemade burger!
