Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatloaf Mixture

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Shape the Meatloaf

Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan and shape into a loaf. Make a slight indentation on top to help hold the sauce.

  3. 3

    Bake the Meatloaf

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the meatloaf for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

  4. 4

    Prepare the Madeira Sauce

In a small saucepan, combine Madeira wine and ketchup. Simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. 5

    Glaze the Meatloaf

During the last 15 minutes of baking, brush the Madeira sauce over the meatloaf, allowing it to glaze and caramelize.

  6. 6

    Serve

Once cooked, let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with additional Madeira sauce if desired.
