London Broil

Pretzel Rolls

Method

Prepare the London Broil

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, black pepper, salt, and dried oregano. Place the London broil in a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the London broil from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the steak for about 6-7 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing against the grain.

Make the Pretzel Rolls

  1. 3

    Prepare the Dough

In a large bowl, dissolve the sugar and yeast in warm water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy. Gradually add in the flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.

  2. 4

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

  3. 5

    Shape the Rolls

After the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. 6

    Boil and Bake

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). In a large pot, bring about 10 cups of water to a boil and add the baking soda. Carefully drop the rolls into the boiling water, 2-3 at a time, for about 30 seconds each. Remove with a slotted spoon and place them back on the baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.

  5. 7

    Final Bake

Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before serving.
