Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once boiling, remove from heat and immediately stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Let the dough cool for a few minutes, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated.

  4. 4

    Prepare for Frying

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.

Frying the Churros

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe Churros

Carefully pipe strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting with scissors to desired lengths.

  3. 7

    Fry Until Golden

Fry churros for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown, then remove and drain on paper towels.

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  1. 8

    Mix Cinnamon Sugar

In a shallow bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon.

  2. 9

    Coat Churros

While the churros are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.

Chocolate Sauce Preparation

  1. 10

    Heat the Cream

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer.

  2. 11

    Melt the Chocolate

Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips, stirring until melted and smooth.

  3. 12

    Add Vanilla

Stir in vanilla extract and mix well.
