Method
Cooking Chicken Wings
- 1
Prepare Chicken Wings
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
- 2
Bake Chicken Wings
Spread the seasoned chicken wings out in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the wings are crispy and cooked through.
- 3
Add Sauce
During the last 10 minutes of baking, remove the wings from the oven and toss them in buffalo sauce. Return them to the oven for the remaining time.
Cooking Rice
- 4
Prepare Rice
In a medium saucepan, combine the white rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.
- 5
Cook Rice
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for another 5 minutes.
Making Jicama Slaw
- 6
Prepare Vegetables
While the chicken wings and rice are cooking, peel and julienne the jicama and carrot. Finely slice the red cabbage.
- 7
Mix Slaw
In a large bowl, combine the jicama, carrot, and red cabbage. In a small bowl, whisk together lime juice, olive oil, and salt. Pour the dressing over the slaw and toss to combine.
