Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  6. 6

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Soaking

  1. 7

    Prepare Milk Mixture

In a bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk.

  2. 8

    Soak the Cake

Once the cake has cooled for 10 minutes, poke holes all over the top with a fork. Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in.

  3. 9

    Chill the Cake

Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Topping Preparation

  1. 10

    Whip Cream

In a medium bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

  2. 11

    Frost the Cake

Spread the whipped cream over the top of the chilled cake.

  3. 12

    Garnish

Sprinkle ground cinnamon over the top for garnish before serving.
