Method

Preparation of Pork

1

Season the Pork

In a large bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, cumin, oregano, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder.

2

Slow Cook the Pork

Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Add lime juice, chicken broth, and bay leaves. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.

3

Shred the Pork

Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes. Use two forks to shred the pork into bite-sized pieces.

Assembling Tacos

4

Warm the Tortillas

In a dry skillet over medium heat, warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

5

Build the Tacos

Place a generous amount of shredded pork on each tortilla. Top with salsa verde, diced onions, and fresh cilantro.

6

Serve

Serve the tacos with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
