1. Cook the Spaghetti

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water.

2. Prepare the Sauce

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

3. Combine

Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet. Toss with garlic oil, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time to create a light sauce.

4. Add Cheese and Seasoning

Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, chopped basil, and red pepper flakes. Mix well until the cheese is melted and everything is well combined.

5. Serve

Plate the spaghetti and sprinkle additional Parmesan cheese on top if desired. Garnish with extra basil and serve immediately.
