Fried Mozzarella Sticks
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes. In the first dish, add the all-purpose flour. In the second dish, beat the eggs. In the third dish, mix the breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- 2
Bread the Mozzarella Sticks
Dip each mozzarella stick in the flour, coating it completely. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, coat it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure it sticks. Repeat until all mozzarella sticks are breaded.
- 3
Chill the Sticks
Place the breaded mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape while frying.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Mozzarella Sticks
Carefully add a few mozzarella sticks to the hot oil at a time, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.
- 6
Serve
Serve the fried mozzarella sticks hot with Chef's Sauce on the side for dipping.
