Method
Preparation
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it reaches the right temperature for baking.
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt until well combined.
Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted unsalted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Combining Ingredients
Combine Mixtures
Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture, stirring continuously until fully incorporated and smooth.
Add Food Coloring
Divide the batter into separate bowls based on how many colors you want to use. Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and mix until the desired color is achieved.
Baking
Prepare Baking Pan
Grease a round cake pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
Layer the Batter
Pour spoonfuls of each colored batter into the center of the prepared cake pan, allowing the batter to spread outwards. Alternate colors to create a swirling effect.
Bake the Cake
Place the cake pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cooling and Serving
Cool the Cake
Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serve
Once completely cooled, slice the cake and serve it to your guests. Enjoy the colorful, rotating craft of flavors!
