Prepare the Ingredients

Wash the fresh basil leaves and pat them dry. Zest 2 lemons using a microplane or zester.

Infuse the Alcohol

In a clean glass jar, combine 750 ml of grain alcohol with the basil leaves and lemon zest. Seal the jar tightly.

Let it Infuse

Store the jar in a cool, dark place for 5 to 7 days, shaking it gently every day.

Strain and Sweeten

After the infusion period, strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove the solids. Mix in 1 cup of simple syrup to sweeten.

Bottle and Store

Transfer the infused shine to a clean bottle, seal it, and store it in the refrigerator.
