Method

Prepare the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a 6 oz. burger patty. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

    Grill the Patties

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned, then flip.

  2. 4

    Add Cheese

After flipping, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the burger is cooked to your desired doneness.

Sauté the Mushrooms

  1. 5

    Cook Mushrooms

In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add sliced mushrooms and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown and tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare Toppings

Slice the tomato into thick slices. Rinse and dry the lettuce leaves.

  2. 7

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each burger bun, spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise. Layer with lettuce, the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, sautéed mushrooms, and a slice of tomato. Top with the other half of the bun.
