Method

Brownies

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Melt the Butter

In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the cocoa powder until smooth.

  3. 3

    Mix the Sugars

In a large mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, and the melted butter mixture. Mix well.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and chocolate chips. Gradually add to the wet mixture and stir until combined.

  6. 6

    Add Pecans

    Fold in the chopped pecans.

  7. 7

    Bake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  8. 8

    Cool and Cut

Allow brownies to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares.

Caramel Sauce

  1. 9

    Cook Sugar

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the granulated sugar until it turns a golden brown color. Stir constantly to avoid burning.

  2. 10

    Add Butter

Once the sugar is melted, carefully add the butter and stir until fully combined.

  3. 11

    Add Heavy Cream

Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring continuously. Allow the sauce to boil for a minute, then remove from heat and let cool.

Assembly

  1. 12

    Serve

Serve the double-cut fudge brownies warm, topped with a scoop of praline pecan ice cream and drizzled with caramel sauce.
