Method
Brownie Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- 2
Melt the Butter
In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- 3
Mix Sugars and Eggs
In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter. Whisk together until well combined. Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- 4
Combine Dry Ingredients
In another bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- 5
Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix. If using, fold in the chocolate chips.
- 6
Bake the Brownies
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- 7
Cool and Serve
Remove the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes. Cut into squares and serve.
