Method

Prepare Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties, about ¾ inch thick.

Cook Burger Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Pan

Preheat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty to melt.

Prepare Mushroom Topping

  1. 5

    Sauté Vegetables

In a separate pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and onions, and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are soft and golden.

  2. 6

    Season

Season with salt and black pepper. Stir well and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Assemble Burgers

  1. 7

    Prepare Buns

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.

  2. 8

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato. Add the cheese-topped patty, followed by a generous spoonful of sautéed mushrooms.

  3. 9

    Add Condiments

Top with ketchup and mustard as desired, then place the top half of the bun on.
