Method

Pancake Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 2 tsp of baking powder, 1 tbsp of sugar, and 1 tsp of salt. Whisk together until well blended.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together 3 ml of milk, 1 egg, and 2 tbsp of melted butter until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.

  4. 4

    Heat the Griddle

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or cooking spray.

  5. 5

    Cook Pancakes

Pour small amounts of batter (about 2-3 tablespoons) onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes.

  6. 6

    Flip and Finish Cooking

Flip the pancakes carefully and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Repeat until all batter is used.

Bacon or Sausage Preparation

  1. 7

    Cook Bacon or Sausage

In a separate skillet, cook 2 strips of bacon or 1 sausage patty over medium heat until crispy and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate and Serve

Stack 5 silver dollar pancakes on a plate. Top with 2 tbsp of butter and drizzle with 0.5 cup of maple syrup. Serve alongside the cooked bacon or sausage.
