Method

Preparing Hashbrowns

  1. 1

    Cook Hashbrowns

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the frozen hashbrowns, spreading them evenly in the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and crispy.

Adding Toppings

  1. 2

    Sauté Vegetables

In the same skillet, after the hashbrowns are cooked, push them to one side of the skillet. Add diced onion and green bell pepper to the empty side and sauté for about 3-4 minutes, until they are softened.

  2. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Once the vegetables are sautéed, mix them into the hashbrowns. Add the chopped bacon or sausage and shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until the cheese is melted and everything is well combined.

Cooking Eggs

  1. 4

    Fry Eggs

In a separate pan, add a little oil or butter and heat over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the pan and cook to your desired doneness, either sunny-side up, over-easy, or scrambled.

Toasting Bread

  1. 5

    Toast Bread

While the eggs are cooking, toast the slices of bread or English muffin until golden brown.

Assembling the Dish

  1. 6

    Serve Loaded Potatoes

On a plate, serve a generous portion of the loaded hashbrowns topped with the fried eggs. Serve with the toasted bread or English muffin on the side.
