Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Meats

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon and sausage until crispy. Remove from the skillet and chop into small pieces. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Chop the Vegetables

While the meats are cooking, chop the green bell pepper, onion, mushrooms, and tomato into small pieces.

Cooking the Omelet

  1. 3

    Whisk the Eggs

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper until thoroughly combined.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet used for the meats, add olive oil and sauté the chopped green bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes until softened.

  3. 5

    Combine Ingredients

Add the cooked meats and chopped tomato to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. Stir to combine and let cook for an additional minute.

  4. 6

    Add Eggs

Pour the whisked egg mixture into the skillet, ensuring it covers the meat and vegetable mixture evenly.

  5. 7

    Cook the Omelet

Let the omelet cook undisturbed for about 3-4 minutes until the edges begin to set. Using a spatula, gently lift the edges and allow uncooked eggs to flow underneath.

  6. 8

    Add Cheese and Finish

Once the omelet is mostly set but still slightly runny on top, place the slices of American cheese on one half of the omelet. Fold the other half over the cheese and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Omelet

Carefully slide the omelet onto a plate. Cut in half if desired and serve immediately.
