Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Season the Beef

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the seasoned beef into two equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you can add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip them.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

After flipping, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burger is cooked to your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Bun

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster if desired.

  2. 7

    Add Toppings

On the bottom half of each bun, spread ketchup and mustard to taste. Place the cooked burger patty on top, followed by a leaf of lettuce, a slice of tomato, and pickles.

  3. 8

    Finish Assembling

Top with the other half of the bun and press down gently to secure the toppings.
