Preheat Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare Wings
Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, combine salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and baking powder. Toss the wings in the seasoning mix until evenly coated.
Frying

Fry Wings
Carefully add the seasoned wings to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 10-12 minutes, or until the wings are golden brown and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Drain Wings
Using a slotted spoon, remove the wings from the oil and let them drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
Sauce (if using)

Prepare Sauce
In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Stir in hot sauce and honey until well combined and heated through.

In a large bowl, toss the fried wings with the prepared sauce until evenly coated.
