Method

Preparing the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Boil the Shrimp

In a large pot, combine 4 cups of water, sliced lemon, Old Bay seasoning, and salt. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

    Add Shrimp

Once the water is boiling, add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the pot. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

  3. 3

    Ice Bath

Remove the pot from heat and immediately transfer the shrimp to a bowl of ice water. Let them cool for about 5 minutes to stop the cooking process.

  4. 4

    Drain and Chill

Drain the shrimp from the ice water and place them on a plate. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Making the Cocktail Sauce

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, mix together 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of horseradish, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.

  2. 6

    Adjust Flavor

Taste the sauce and add hot sauce to your liking. Mix well until combined.

  3. 7

    Chill

Cover the cocktail sauce with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Shrimp

Arrange the chilled shrimp on a serving platter.

  2. 9

    Serve with Sauce
