Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Muddle the Herbs

In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh mint leaves and Thai basil leaves. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently press the leaves to release their essential oils, being careful not to shred them too much.

  2. 2

    Add Lime and Syrup

Pour in the lime juice and simple syrup over the muddled herbs. This will help mix the flavors together.

  3. 3

    Add Rum

Add the white rum to the cocktail shaker and fill it with ice. Secure the lid and shake well for about 10-15 seconds, until the mixture is well chilled.

Serving

  1. 4

    Strain and Serve

Fill a glass with ice and strain the cocktail mixture over the ice, ensuring to leave the herb pieces behind in the shaker.

  2. 5

    Top with Club Soda

Pour the club soda over the strained cocktail to add a refreshing fizz. Stir gently to combine.

  3. 6

    Garnish

Garnish your Thai Mojito with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint for an attractive presentation.
